Point-of-Care PCR Assays for COVID-19 Detection

We are happy to share our new review article focusing on the recent advances in the development of miniaturized polymerase chain reaction (PCR) systems with an emphasis on COVID-19 detection. The distinct features of digital PCR and electrochemical PCR are detailed within along with the relative challenges. The potential of CRISPR/Cas technology for point-of-care (POC) diagnostics is also highlighted. Finally, commercial reverse transcriptase-PCR (RT-PCR) POC systems approved by various agencies for COVID-19 detection are discussed.
