The University of Exeter (UNEXE) combines world-class research with excellent student satisfaction at its campuses in Exeter and Cornwall. The UNEXE investigator is based in the College of Life and Environmental Sciences (CLES) at the UNEXE, within the Geography department. This is one of the most successful Geography departments in the UK, with an excellent reputation for both teaching and research. Ranked 7th in the UK for research in the UK 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) and 3rd for research power (Times Higher Education research power ranking) in Geography and Environmental Studies and 4th in the UK for research in Earth Systems and Environmental Sciences (QS World University Rankings 2016), we are committed to pursuing world class research and teaching. In recognition of its employment practices that specifically support the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) in higher education, UNEXE CLES (Penryn campus) has been awarded an Athena SWAN Institutional Silver Award. The UNEXE investigator is part of the Centre for Geography, Environment and Society which is a multidisciplinary research centre consisting of 15 academics and 15 post-graduate researchers
