Bio

Sohail Sarang was born in Mithi, Tharparkar, Pakistan. He received his bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Hamdard University, Karachi Pakistan in 2014 through the Prime Minister National ICT Scholarship Programme. He did his master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia, in 2018, where his research focused primarily on the development of communication protocols for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), for which he has been honored with a fully-funded scholarship. During his master’s degree, Sohail developed a QoS Medium Access Control (MAC) Protocol for Prioritized Data (QPPD-MAC) in Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks (EH-WSNs).
Currently, Sohail is working as Marie Curie Early-Stage researcher in AQUASENSE project and PhD student in the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. His PhD research work will focus on wireless data acquisition and artificial intelligent based data analytic.
His research interests lie in wireless sensor networks, including medium access control protocols, energy harvesting communications, QoS and wireless data acquisition and Artificial Intelligence.

Qualification

Masters degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Project

RP15 Wireless data acquisition and artificial intelligent based data analytics (UNS, ESR15)
This project will provide a WSN communication protocols for data acquisition and monitoring of multi-sensing nodes in non-conventional environments (by ESR11, ESR12 in WP3 and ESR13 in WP4). It will be used special design algorithms which enable communication between nodes with minimum energy consumption. Also, using computational intelligence paradigms to predict positions of multi-sensing nodes as per recent history and data analytics to study the trend over long period of time.
